Yeah, it does feel like we are entering into a new stage. Some good, some challenging. It makes sense if you think about how far we've come.
Two quick comments:
On politics - it is up to management to stomp this out. I'm a big fan of Jeff Weiner's (LinkedIn) concept of a "clean escalation." As opposed to letting two disagreeing employees lobby behind closed doors, or at the bar, or wherever, you get everyone in the room to talk it out. Absolutely agree - we can't let this place get political.
On recognition - this is on everyone. We have Pride where anybody can give props to anyone else. If you see someone quietly cranking away to no fanfare, post about it on Pride. Hundreds of DDers will see it, and like it, and comment on it. I've seen it happen. Or, grab me for an all hands and we can recognize more publicly.
