Pros

I love working at DonorDrive. I've been here just a short time but have been so impressed with the leadership and overall culture. From the CEO to the leadership team to individual contributors, everyone is so helpful and willing to go the extra step to help others be successful. This is my first fully remote position, and I worried about feeling connected to a team. DonorDrive does a great job of creating positive engagement with remote employees. They also work to make sure teams aren't siloed and everyone works together. We work with nonprofit organizations on digital fundraising, and it's all hands on deck to make sure our partners are successful. Their mission is truly our mission.

Cons

DonorDrive is a relatively small company but growing fast. It sometimes feels like we can't hire fast enough to keep up with the workload. I'd also like to see more diversity in our hiring.

Pros

Other departments were full of kind professionals. Great product with a good purpose.

Cons

I was given the opportunity to join the "team" around 2018. I'm writing this review now because I will still sometimes think back to how I wish I would have stood up for myself against workplace bullies. At the time, I was not the most qualified for the role, however, the support team chose to give me a chance. From day one there were a few red flags from a culture aspect. The support team that I worked with was extremely cliquey. Within a short amount of time I began to feel as if I was back in middle school. Feeling judged for any movement, question, or friendly attempt to join into the team banter. It was very apparent that I was disliked by the team and that they most likely were bonding over their shared dislike of me by gossiping and talking behind my back. The manager of the support team was kind to my face but it seemed like he cared more about being liked by his cronies rather than ensuring that his newest team member felt settled in and supported. Often times in meetings the team would gossip about many other team members outside of our direct department. It felt very unprofessional and just mean. Some of the actions from the members of my team were just strange and baffling. It is still hard to understand why a group of people would willing act cruel in such a setting. Even though many years have passed, there are still some of the same team members working within this organization. I don't deny that they are probably fantastic at their jobs but I write this review as a disclaimer to anyone who may be entering this organization early into their career venture. Everyone is different, but if you experience any of what I have listed above just know that it is not normal and that the position is not worth dealing with the feeling of being an outsider everyday. A few months after myself and the organization parted ways, I happened to see some of my old coworkers out and about during their lunchbreak as I was working an event within my new role at my new organization. I waved, smiled, and said hello and received a cold response followed with laughter. I know that things like this happen in life and you just let it go as time goes by, but I still think about this experience from time to time and wanted to share my story. I am hopeful that the culture has changed for the better. All of this being said, the product itself is great and very helpful for those within the fundraising world.
