Completely unsafe for both the dogs and staff members - this company should be shut down. - Canine Coach Dogtopia Employee Review

Pros

None. This Company violated their own Safety Protocols, and then blamed the worker for their faults. They even violated our Worker's Rights. They hire what they can during the first 3 months, and then fire all of you for reasons that they never have to disclose. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Cons

I was bitten at work during what they call a "scuffle". It was a full on dog fight that had become very dangerous. In brief, I had seconds to stop a very aggressive dog from mauling and possibly killing two other dogs. While I was recovering, I was led to believe that they "would do whatever they could for me", including taking a "step back" with the dog who had become aggressive. When I returned to work, they fired me and were legally protected from giving me any reasons why because I signed their contract of employment. They tried to get me to sign a disclosure that would prevent me from saying any negative things about the company, or I would not get a severance package. I respectfully declined, as I think this Company is playing with fire. The safety of their staff and the dogs in their care are at serious risk. I got injured trying to protect the other dogs in the room and got fired for it. Nice.

Pros

Dogs and teaching people dog behavior and management

Cons

Constant turnover, the pay is not equal to the expectation of availability (6a-9p for management), not all GMs are supportive, prioritize revenue over safety every time until they have to pay a vet bill and decide to listen. Upper management and support office have absolutely zero dog handling experience but they make the policy, special treatment for whoever will do what they're told without questioning safety, my GM looked to talk badly about other staff and created hostility, she was unavailable unless you called her boss, and she violated policies for her own benefit
