Pros

The other employees were amazing and made the job worth going to.

Cons

The owner was verbally abusive and often yelled at his employees and constantly lied to clients about timelines. There was a huge lack of effective communication between the owner and employees. Anxiety ran high among the staff most days. When the owner was out of the office the staff could work effectively and in peace. The inconsistency of rules was confusing as calling in sick was looked down upon, yet one time the owner himself got sick because people would come in sick out of fear and then the staff got yelled at for coming in sick. I witnessed 2 employees get yelled at their first week of work for not doing their job correctly. Everything was great aside from the owner himself who would get red faced and humiliate his staff in the office. There is also a culture of micromanagement, screen monitoring and endless counterproductive meetings. A few of his staff members get no time off at all - they are on call 24 hours a day. Raises were a biased projection of how the owner liked you at that particular moment.

Pros

Work life balance is the best I've had in my years of employment. Benefits are good and getting better. My "work family" is an amazing bunch of people. Working at Dodd, I enjoy getting up in the mornings!

Cons

I personally do not have a downside to working here, and I'm being honest! I have worked at places that make you not want to get out of bed in the mornings. Dodd is NOT one of those places.

Pros

New (especially junior-level) employees will probably have the opportunity to learn a lot, add a line to their resume, and even do some good work. It may even be worth it, in the short term.

Cons

Work here long enough and you'll witness truly shocking displays of abuse, manipulation, and unprofessionalism. That's not a bug, it's a feature—because this place runs on fear.
