Cons

DLocal is an excellent company with talented people and many opportunities to grow. My concerns are not with the company itself but with my experience under the QA leadership. In my case, I joined the company before the new QA Manager. From the beginning, I felt that the management style changed significantly. I also felt that the expectations shifted away from the Manual QA role I had been hired for, and I was pushed toward responsibilities and tasks for which I did not yet have the necessary experience. From my understanding, the company had established HR processes to communicate performance concerns, provide feedback, and give employees an opportunity to improve before their position was placed at risk. However, that was not my experience. I was never clearly informed that my performance was putting my position at risk or given a structured opportunity to address specific areas for improvement. From my perspective, I lost my job without prior warning or a performance improvement plan. I was fulfilling the responsibilities of the Manual QA role I had been hired for. While the team was gradually moving toward greater automation, the expectations eventually became almost entirely automation-focused, which was not the position I had originally accepted or expected to be evaluated against. Overall, I continue to believe DLocal is a great company with strong values and talented people. My negative experience was specific to the QA leadership, which, in my opinion, did not reflect the same level of transparency, communication, employee development, and support that the company promotes.

Pros

Great camaraderie among colleagues, who are always willing to help with any issues you face and support you in navigating the complexities of the business. The company is likely to continue growing and may become a better place to work in the future.

Cons

The work environment is quite toxic, with a culture that no longer aligns with what you typically see in product-driven companies today. Work-life balance is poor, and there isn’t much room for recognition. The benefits are not competitive compared to other companies in the industry. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not used to dealing with constant pressure, often without a clear purpose, and working in an environment where everything is treated as an emergency, regardless of employee well-being. I witnessed too many burnouts and layoffs during my time, which was alarming.
