Pros
- Creative environment, - easy-going and casual atmosphere -If you just want to get a couple years of experience and don't expect high pay, this is not a bad place to work .
Cons
Everything other employees have posted on Glassdoor regarding poor management is true. For anyone hoping to advance by means of promotion, forget it. I have watched employees who have worked here for years with expert knowledge and skills, be passed over for newly hired and highly degreed managers who have lousy management skills. The management group is essentially a clique and unless there is a serious breach, no manager will get fired. There is also a lot of favoritism among certain managers and employees, who despite displaying little usefulness and goofing off the largest percentage of the day, will not get fired either. If you just want to get a couple years of experience, this is not a bad place to work, as you will likely like your team members and have some fun. However, don't get stuck believing any promises hiring managers may make - time and time again, I have seen young and eager candidates disappointed when they realize that those promises were lies. Be warned that most likely you will be hired as a temp and not enjoy the benefits of full-time employees. When Jakks took over the company a few years ago, many employees were fired; a good number were either brought back or replaced as temps...with no plans of making those positions permanent again. So don't believe promises of being brought on full-time. It used to be a fun place to work; but the morale dropped substantially after Jakks took over and sucked all the good will and fun out of it. No fringe benefits...not even money for bagels or birthday lunches... Pay is low; there is no mobility; there is not a lot of room to grow.
