Pros

It provides under-served children in the community through science, education

Cons

AVOID AT ALL COSTS ... the turnover is testament to the TOXIC culture. From VPs to floor staff, no one stays longer than a year. Leadership might be some of the worst I've ever seen. Most are untrained, unskilled and lacking any real direction, strategy or operational innovation. CEO has been there far too long and he just turns a blind eye to the product and people. Zero innovation, vision or organizational leadership. CEO too busy micro-managing EVERYONE. The CFO has had 12 employees in 2 years because she is an absolute bully and treats her team like garbage and now I hear oversees HR. You can't make this stuff up. Operations can't keep floor staff because the culture is soo bad. You have leaders that have been there for 15 years without ANY formal training of running a successful organization or training its people. Place is filthy, and exhibits are dirty and broken.

Pros

-Amazing coworkers -Really fun and meaningful working with the kids -Pretty good benefits -A handful of the managers are fantastic and supportive

Cons

At the core of Discovery Cube is an atmosphere of distrust. Management doesn't trust their employees and employees certainly don't trust management. There's so much red tape everywhere that it could take weeks just for a small task to be completed because it has to go through five people, and maybe one of them is in a bad mood. Extremely concerning disregard for employee safety. No commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce. Unpredictable and uneven implementation of disciplinary action—really just depends if some manager decides they don't like you. Several supervisors lack the emotional regulation skills necessary to work in management. I could go on but I think you get the picture. I would not recommend anyone apply to work here. There are other places where you can gain similar experience with a better company culture.
