Pros
My experience working at Discord thus far has been primarily working from home due to the pandemic. Taking that into account, I feel that Discord is doing an incredible job! The virtual onboarding process was was extensive and well crafted. The Discord team really takes their time to make sure you're onboarded with care. They introduce new hires to many members of the Discord team over their first few weeks, each providing copious amounts of information to put you on track to succeed. Discords perks are also rad! They are currently offering virtual yoga classes, a quarterly health and wellness stipend, a work from home stipend to set up your home workspace, a new hire headphone stipend, so much *actually well made* Discord swag (some of the items so far have included Discord bomber jackets and Wumpus mascot plushies), and so much more. Everyone at the company that I've worked with so far has a definite sense of pride and ownership. They're are also in general incredibly nice folk! People are passionate about working for the company. The people here are some of the most talented folks I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I 100% recommend Discord to anyone who wants to work for a company with a next level product, awesome people, and stellar growth potential.
Cons
The company is growing like crazy!I wouldn't recommend working for Discord if you're looking for a cushy, slow paced role. Discord is 100% not one of those "Crunch Culture" companies, but there's a lot to build and scale.
