Pros
Employees are hired based on merit and skill. This has allowed Discord to create a smaller, more collaborative work force where individuals have more autonomy and room for creativity. Additionally, leadership is very open to feedback and is more transparent than many other companies. Leadership at Discord puts effort into listening to the concerns of the workforce in order to make real improvement. The benefits offered to employees are genuinely above and beyond compared to other companies in the industry. In addition to health/denial/vision already offered, Discord recently started offering family planning and transitioning benefits. Discord is very "work hard, play hard" place with an affably confident attitude. It is not a place to clock in/out and coast by. I truly believe in the direction Discord is going both as a product and its internal culture.
Cons
Discord is a young company and with that has made mistakes, but leadership is transparently learning from them. In reality this is both a pro and a con. As an organization Discord is still working on internal career paths for employees that will scale with company growth, however the organization is making good decisions in this regard. Occasionally, leadership will make an attempt at an improvement that does not work. Fortunately in most cases they have been quick to learn, take responsibility and course correct.
