Pros

The culture at Digital Waffle is great if you like going out drinking and socialising. The monthly incentives are always a laugh and you get to do things you wouldn’t normally do. Good commission structure with no threshold! The work/life balance is really good with you being able to work from home 2 out of the 5 days per week. Generally a relaxed atmosphere.

Cons

The lack of training, the main training platform used is Recruitment Mentors which is purely a video platform where you are made to watch hours worth of training videos when you first start and then that’s your training done. I wouldn’t work here if you’re just starting out in recruitment because you’re expected to hit the ground running with little help and guidance. The atmosphere in the office at times can be quite tense and awkward. It is becoming very KPI driven and micromanaged with you being told what’s expected of you per day and the figures and productivity are tracked daily and discussed regularly. It seems easier for them to tell you what you’re doing wrong and what you’re not doing enough of rather than asking you how they can help and offering you a solution

Thanks for your review of your time at Digital Waffle and the Pros you have highlighted. Although, we have to disagree with the Cons you have mentioned. You're correct, an element of training is provided by the Recruitment Mentors platform. However, you have failed to mention the group training sessions on Thursday combined with regular 1-2-1s with Team Leads and Directors of the company. The combination of formats we apply to train staff has a proven track record for employees passing probation and becoming an integral part of the team. To this day, the only KPI given to our consultants is their Annual Sales Target. We give individuals the freedom to work as they wish, find their own way to win business, and fill roles without the need for arbitrary KPIs you have to hit to feel like you're doing your job. When it comes to the atmosphere and the monitoring of performance - that is just a sales environment, it won't always be sunshine and roses. As we don't monitor KPIs for "Calls Made", "CVs Sent" and "Interviews Booked" - we have to ask what people are doing so we know where your business is at and can offer support if required. We're sorry you feel this way about your time at Digital Waffle and we understand that the freedom & benefits we offer our employees doesn't suit everyone.

Pros

Moving from an extremely KPI Driven, "traditional" recruitment agency to Digital Waffle was one of the best things I have ever done! You essentially are in charge of your own desk, with all consultants having their own vertical market, without silly pointless targets to hit. The trust is there from the seniors which makes a huge difference. However, despite this, if I ever feel that I am struggling, or need help with anything I have a great support network within my management, with weekly team meetings being held to see how everyone is doing, and to talk through any issues we feel we may have. In addition to this, there is a wide variety of training materials supplied, and weekly sessions often held by external 'experts' to continuously better our skills. Most importantly, the best thing about Digital Waffle is 100% the team. I can confidently say I have made friends for life, in addition to regular socials and trips being held so there is always something to look forward to!
