Pros

The company is run by a small group of very, very smart people, with whom it is often a pleasure to work, and from whom you can learn a lot. When first working there, it felt as though my contribution would be understood, and could be part of this galaxy of success that they all seem to fly in. At times, that was the case. When things go well, they are the most appreciative and perceptive managers imaginable.

Cons

There are times when -- appallingly-- ego gets in the way, and management simply does not listen. I was shocked to find that I was thrown under the proverbial bus time and again by someone who didn't know what was going on, but needed desperately to be seen as someone in charge. Downright lies and misrepresentations were allowed to stand, and the communication that I thought was so good at first, suddenly shut down, and I was bounced rather unceremoniously. I felt they misused a number of people working there, and steamrollered over them because they could. I watched it go from a wonderful place to work, to an elite club.

Pros

DP has overcome growing pains in the last few years. It went from being a small agency fighting to win projects to a small agency with new business coming out of its ears. It was challenging to keep up with the work load while the agency evolved. A lot of folks stuck around because we love this crazy place and management has since added a lot of really smart people who share our passion for making this a great place to work. The in-house technology team almost tripled in size and our final product is even more robust and polished. These folks are approachable and love a challenge. The design team doubled and it's still growing. There are designers at every level who are doing beautiful work and helping each other out. All the project managers are senior level. They each march to their own drum so every project is run a little bit differently but they do a good job making sure everyone enjoys a work/life balance. Senior management is very hands-on. They recognize hard work and reward it generously.

Cons

- Some bread-and-butter projects aren't very exciting - Health insurance is expensive (but this is offset by bonuses and standardized raises) - Open office space isn't for everyone
