Pros
I have been working for DZone for 5 years. I am sure that some of you are going to think that I am biased and in some manner of speaking you are absolutely right. I have enjoyed the generosity of management. I started with this company when it was very small and have enjoyed nearly every minute of it. This is a startup environment people, if you cannot handle constant change and learn to go with the ebb and flow then this is not the type of environment for you. DZone is a rapidly growing company that expects a lot from its employees. Being a startup means that each position is a multi-faceted job. You will have a primary function and many secondary ones. We are expected to work as a team and check each other. We succeed and fail as a team. The benefits of working at Dzone are hard to ignore. We have awesome medical and dental. We have a keg and food bar so on the days we work through lunch, there is stuff to munch on. There is a well stocked beverage cooler, bean bag chairs and video games to fill the gaps. At Dzone, dedication to your job will get you places.
Cons
It can be intense at times and its hard to keep your head up and remain positive. Better definition for management on their specific areas of responsibility would be helpful.
