Pros
Excellent networking opportunities and some nice little perks of working in tourism;
Fun atmosphere - had a good team the entire time I worked there, and supervisors try to be innovative in ways to make the job more fun, with incentive schemes, prizes and rewards etc;
Great summer seasonal job for students; those who perform well are often asked back
Benefits for full time permanent employees
Cons
Can be stressful at times - you deal with huge volumes of people in the summer months
visitor centre is open late so you will work evenings and weekends - although this could be a pro for some people (late starts on late finish days)
Can be a little inflexible when it comes to time off - don't expect to take time off between April and September.
Less great job for people looking for full time employment - pay is fairly low (although having benefits makes up for this a bit) but pretty standard in terms of retail type work.
Not enough opportunities for development - they should focus more on developing talent, although this is hard when all but core staff members have their contracts expire at the end of the summer due to business levels dropping in the off-season.
