Pros

Derse is a special company that I’ve always felt truly cares about hiring and retaining good people. If you have a hard work ethic, positive attitude, and put in 100% effort, there will always be a place for you here. The culture with my fellow co-workers is fantastic – everyone is friendly, always willing to help out, and supportive of each other. There’s a tremendous sense of camaraderie, and I've made a lot of close friends in my time here. Upper management is vested in the employees and makes decisions with the company's best interests in mind. There is plenty of room for career growth and opportunities to work your way up in the company – as well as many different options/paths to take. Derse is extremely financially responsible and stable. While many of our competitors have either gone out of business or been bought out, we continue to be privately owned and independently run. This is a huge pro, because there's no stress or uncertainty with what may happen to the company in the future.

Cons

The tradeshow/events isn't for everybody; it's very heavily deadline-driven and can require working outside of normal business hours to get the job done. However, this also comes with schedule flexibility.

Pros

Health benefits. The leaders in this building care- They are involved in any way needed and that should set an example for others. People are always going to complain for what they dont have or cant get and some will never be happy. The small gossip is always going to go on, but if people would take a moment to see how far we have come, and look at the changes that have come in the last 4-5 years compared to the revolving door before they should realize. I am excited for the growth coming our way, and for the steps they have taken to help make us stronger and more competitive. Trying to change a culture that’s been here for a long time takes a long time.

Cons

Would be nice to have more company holidays (MLK, Presidents etc) Wish there was more opportunities for bonus. Processes are still a challenge, and our creative tend to design over budget more often than not. Some staff are too busy trying to find things to pick at and complain about instead of looking at the positives which IMO far outweigh the negatives, but you cant get away from that at any company.

Pros

Supportive managers to their best ability, decent working conditions, usually a pleasant team.

Cons

While managers are supportive, they're newer to this company and dont have enough legacy experience to give the support needed and often point to someone who might have it. Lack of clear direction. On boarding is very shaky at best, leaving new employees often confused on a daily basis as to what they're doing in general lat alone the countless tasks they get thrown on their lap while experienced company employees and even upper management always assume you should know the answer or expect you to know whats going on with almost zero proper company training or direction. Its not to say this is a bad place, because it isn't. But there are many, many fast moving parts, situations, tasks, and so on thst arent given any clear direction and new project managers, and even experienced are left swimming in a sea of confusion and uncertainty to how to do their job let alone what they're supposed to be doing specifically. The Dental insurance (delta dental), isn't that good. Health insurance (umr - united) is just, "okay". The cost of the health insurance with Derse, at $204 per paycheck which is $408/month, is insanely higher than other companies in my experience. They do have a wellness program that if completed, will cut it in half (as of now) but even with that, it's still costs a little higher than others while the coverage isn't as good.
