Pros

I've been at Delta full-time for a year and the college has a culture of support and belonging that permeates every division.

Cons

May not work from home without valid reasoning and supervisor approval. This is a staff perspective. I have heard that faculty are expected to join meetings in person and not virtually without prior approval.

Pros

Paid-time off. Holidays off. Weekends off. Adjustable schedule/times. Fridays off from May to the end of July. Kind/Welcoming environment. Easy-going community. Paid Breaks. (If on Campus) Non-toxic workplace. Tuition reimbursement. (If in college at Delta and pass with a C or higher.)

Cons

(Possible cons, may not apply to everyone!) Work everyday throughout the week. Lots of walking/moving. Need to work on snow days or during power outages if people were in the school prior to the event. (But, compensation is received! Perfect to not use sick time if you need off.)

Pros

Culture and values of sustainability, student success, and diversity. The people you work worth are great and like-minded.

Cons

Pay is not competitive and all increases are based on your performance, not cost of living and usually come out to about 2% at an already below-average starting wage. Paid holiday policies are strange, there is very little support/understanding/feeling of belonging for the downtown centers, and management gets away with unethical practices with little more than a slap on the wrist.
