Pros

Being part of clinical research that contributes to future FDA-approved treatments is one of the most rewarding aspects of working at DelRicht Research. It gives the work a real sense of purpose knowing that the studies being conducted may ultimately help improve patients’ lives and advance new treatment options. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated coworkers, physicians, sponsors, and patients, and the relationships built over the years have been one of the best parts of my experience. The role also provides exposure to many different areas of clinical research operations, which keeps the work interesting and engaging. No two days are exactly the same, and there are always opportunities to problem solve, collaborate, and continue learning. I appreciate being trusted with meaningful responsibility and having the ability to make an impact at the site level. I’ve also enjoyed seeing both the company and our site continue to grow over the years. The environment encourages teamwork, adaptability, and strong communication, and I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of leadership, research operations, and patient care throughout my time here.

Cons

Clinical research can be demanding at times due to study timelines and the nature of the industry.

Pros

You have the opportunity to learn so much and really help the community in terms of research and offering treatment. It is very rewarding working with a patient through study completion and getting to establish a connection with them and know you have made a difference for them. No 2 days are the same especially if the site has multiple studies going on at the same time- which for most locations, is usually the case! There is lots of balancing and multi-tasking; which can sometimes be a challenge but having a strong team to work with and help delegate tasks can really make a difference. There is lots of room to grow and opportunities to strengthen the skills you bring to the table, and develop new ones you didn't have before (i.e. blood draws, doing an ECG or checking vitals). I have also gotten to travel to 3 other out-of-state sites and help support them when they have an influx in patients at the beginning of a study. I have really enjoyed working here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a career in the medical field and/or research.

Cons

Training of new team members takes some time as there are so many different tasks to learn depending on current studies and previous experience of new hire. This can be a pro or con- but the schedule and 'flow' of the day can vary- there can be really quick, easy days or there can be long, strenuous days depending on studies going on and number of people scheduled. It is hard to predict what the day will look like until you get closer to that day.
