Flexible but precarious - Business Writer Deep Blue Ventures Employee Review

Pros

I was allowed the freedom to choose my own working schedule and prioritize projects. The biggest perk of this job is its working flexibility.

Cons

The work itself gets very boring and repetitive, and there's more of a focus on SEO scoring than content quality. There's also no HR staff -- I've had days off processed incorrectly, and I never received a full employment contract once I was switched over from a contractor. I was laid off with no notice or offboarding process.

Pros

There isn't a single good thing about this company.

Cons

Aside from the low pay rate, there are several problematic things about this company. First of all, the management in Serbia is horrible. Details? No problem. When I was hired, I was told that I'd sign the contract (as an independent contractor) after the first two weeks. My superior then kept putting it off until he fired me for insisting on the contract. The icing on the cake: he fired me on the same day my manager scheduled a meeting with me for the following day. I don't know who gave that man the freedom to decide anything, but they should rethink their choices. He's incompetent and deceitful and his English is atrocious. I'm also experienced content writer with a C1 level in English, yet I got scammed.
