Pros

Awesome place to work if you are just starting out. Great co-workers, ideal location if you live in town and enjoy being in town. Good benefits, the current building provides parking for a monthly fee. Lots of dedicated programmers and a robust networking/IT team. The IT Ops position will teach a little bit of everything: some networking, some script writing if you are proactive, some SDLC, some agile work methodology, some analytical skills, some help-desk type work items, lots of Azure and SQL. Most of the time you will have to have good attention to detail, and be open to a rotating schedule. It is also a foot in the door; if you are a promising programmer or math whiz, keep an eye out for any openings in those other departments. The IT dept is a fun, solid group. If you join them as a new Operator, congrats!

Cons

Open-concept office but does not encourage too much small-talk unless you eat lunch with everyone at the same time. IT Ops has a rotating schedule, sometimes going past the 12am mark for later schedules (but rare). I haven't seen the company fight to keep employees in the past. They take progress seriously, if you don't make good work with your immediate co-workers it can hamper your employee review. (Again, attention to detail is key).

Pros

Good work culture. Good people to be around.

Cons

Poor management, people get shifted around projects way too frequently, which leaves either less or more work to go around project. Low non-competitive salary for even the Honolulu market.
