Small company culture (note this can be a positive and a negative - especially as the company is growing into a medium company)
Generally friendly culture with lots of opportunities to socialise and meet colleagues
Slowly branching out to other non-defence industries
Relatively flat org structure
General respect of work-life balance and hybrid working
Cons
Small company culture may be a shock to those coming from a larger organisation. All admin is the responsibility of the individual, inc invoices to clients, and processes can be old fashioned and not appropriate for a fast growing company.
Bonuses seem to be rare, with many colleagues having not received one since joining the company.
Rewards and progression is mainly linked to helping the company grow and finding new work. This is frustrating when you are getting good feedback from your client and therefore helping to build a good company reputation through the day job. This would not be the case in a larger consultancy firm.
Pay is low for a consultancy firm, although to be fair probably in line with other small companies (this should be reconsidered though now the company is growing fast)
