Administration does not care about staff - Anonymous employee Decatur Public Schools District Employee Review

- The Administration. Over the past several years of working for DPS, I have both witnessed and experienced, several times over, instances of the Administration (both at the building and the district levels) not supporting or caring to support the staff. They expect staff to bend over backwards to meet their every demand, but do not offer back any sort of understanding or willingness to work with staff when it is the staff member in need. It takes a lot of kindness, patience, and generosity to work day in and day out with the oftentimes-challenging populations served by DPS, and the district seems almost eager to take advantage of and even abuse these traits in their staff members. The district has lost and will continue to lose some very talented young teachers and support staff due to their unwillingness to work with and support them. A very sad situation over all.
