Cons
Fully remote work sometimes hinders the creative process
Pros
Great concept, work flexibility, excellent pool of talent.
Cons
The company often feels like vanity project for the CEO. Bad ideas get a lot of traction and honest criticism isn't welcomed (which doesn't work for a scientifically based company). Nepotism is rampant. Core staff are treated as disposable so time and money is wasted on outside contractors who aren't fit for task. One of the senior business leaders was openly misogynistic to multiple female staff members and nothing was ever done to rectify this despite multiple official complaints. In-house experts are not given ownership of projects as the CEO changes his mind constantly about direction and goals. Staff turnover is incredibly high because people are either fired or leave within a year of joining.
Pros
The company is multitalented! The team is AMAZING! Each department is playing a key role in the overall company offering. The company is fully remote and is very flexible with employees working from anywhere they choose (some exceptions apply). The company also adopted a global way of working where hours are adjusted to be more flexible for employees working in different timezones.
Cons
Fully remote environment has its downsides. Personal human connection is affected when majority of communications are through the screen, but the company is trying to organize in-person meetings from time to time to keep the team connected.
