Pros

I started working here less than a year ago and in all honesty, I was a little hesitant to accept my offer based on other reviews I read on Glassdoor. What ultimately convinced me were the people I met during my interview process. In the end, the job I was interviewing for seemed to match the job description, and my wants, very well, and the people I met seemed genuine and exciting. I can say with the utmost confidence, I love my job at DealerRater. I've read other reviews and just don't see what others have seen. The work that I'm doing is exciting and cutting edge. I'm working with awesome people in many different stages of their careers. The office environment is fun and engaging. And the work I do matters. I'm not getting paid for this review, I don't work in HR, and I'm not in a managerial position. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and like I said, I've been here for less than a year. I can only assume the negative reviews here were left prior to some major changes that had to have taken place. Because I don't regret my decision to work here one bit.

Cons

The temperature in the office could be regulated a little better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Glassdoor. I'm so glad to hear you have had a good experience during your first year. Thank you also for pointing out that you are not in a management role of HR. It's been very frustrating to see past posts stating that we have fake reviews. I have never asked anyone to post fake reviews, nor has any of the current management team. It's not something we would support or encourage since it wouldn't help us to actually resolve any potential problems. I agree that the temperature can be an issue from time to time. It's one of the downsides to being in an old historic building with "character". I'll reach out to the building management to see if there is anything else we can do to try and better regulate the temperature. In the meantime, I usually try and bring/wear layers which has been helpful! Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

The manager has a clear focus of the team's direction without micromanaging. Very easy to work for. The engineering team is great to work with and very competent.

Cons

was bound by decisions, made by the parent company in Chicago, which sometimes seemed arbitrary

Pros

Pros – Free on-site gym membership, catered lunches on Monday & benefits from day one.

Cons

Come work for DealerRater! We are hiring anything with a pulse and telemarketing experience for our Sales team. We don’t mind if you don’t have automotive industry experience, or related online advertising/digital marketing experience, we will train you! Although our training is mundane and outdated, and performed by a manager who has never sold the product, we will train you to sell our online reputation product. For our Client Services and Customer Service teams, if you brown nose certain managers and go out for weekly drinks, you will surely receive a promotion within months of being hired! We are inconsistent in our policies and pricing, and if you make 40+ calls per day you will be a super star regardless if you hit quota! Forget about prospecting your territory before calling into clients, its more important to make large quantities of calls versus quality calls according to our metrics plan. We've designed our compensation plan to include an unrealistic quota, below industry average base salary plus monthly commissions. This is not your everyday sales job; you will be expected to work more than 50 hours per week, put in the time on nights and weekends, even holidays. If you enjoy being micromanaged extensively, this is the place for you!
