Pros

It was so great to help families celebrate the holidays and traditions that were meaningful to them. I enjoyed working with my direct leadership and I appreciate the mission of the company.

Cons

Start-up culture can be rough. Coming into a start-up job without any process documentation is rough but expected. What wasn't expected was the resistance to change and how hard it was to get ideas to fruition. Everyone is already so busy with what they are doing that improvements don't really happen unless they are urgent or emergent. Something that bothered me was that the customer support approach was pretty reactive rather than proactive. I also didn't feel my professional experience wasn't trusted. That was really difficult for me as leadership constantly told us to do things on our own, try things, see what worked, etc. It felt a little two-faced as well when we were told to own more but then also relax and rest more. I don't come from an Israeli business background so I also think there were some cultural differences that made interfacing with leadership tricky for me. In the end, this role worked for me for about a year and then I just couldn't hang anymore.
