Pros

Income exceeding your friend’s salary, with so much more entertainment!

Cons

Long hours. There’s no getting around it. It’s also a pooled house. This didn’t bother me until I could actively see a co-worker; riding coattails. Management will not get involved (rightfully), because you are all Adults, making Adult Money.

Pros

Free staff meals and occasional good nights that are outweighed by slow normal nights

Cons

Management is dysfunctional, communication is poor, and waitstaff are blamed for everything, accurately or not. Training is uncoordinated, scheduling is straight out of the 2000s, and rules are enforced inconsistently. Sidework is ignored, and professionalism is lacking. Favoritism and high school-level drama drive decision-making. Management focuses more on covering their own failures than supporting staff. They obsess over Google Reviews not to improve, but to spread blame. Praise is nonexistent. Shocking outbursts and political views go unchecked. Raising professional issues will get you dismissed or casually discriminated against — often based on sex or race. When corporate is around, managers are on their best behavior, but when the cats are away, the mice play. On that note, wait until you meet Davio’s resident mice. Guests constantly complain, and management is always “doing something about it,” but somehow, the problem never goes away. Very on-brand. All of this would be more forgivable if pay was better, but excessive tip-outs cut deep into already declining sales. Meanwhile, multiple bussers openly loaf and abandon duties more than they work. They can no-show on major holidays, throwing the staff into more chaos, and still face zero consequences. Expect to often make <$20/hr while bussing tables more than your busser. Several highly experienced servers joined but left quickly after voicing the same complaints or worse. If you’re a veteran server with seniority, you might do okay. If you’re new and looking to apply here? Expect low pay, high stress, and no real support.
