Owner runs a dictatorship and wants full control of everything. At first glance he appears to be an innocent older gentleman looking out for the best of the company and his employees. In reality, he has an inferiority complex and only has the company to try and control others lives. The hours are extensive and compensation is far below the market average for work expected. It is a declining industry in a saturated market with antiquated business mindset. Owner believes what worked 30 yrs ago will work in 2014 and refuses to adapt to changes in society and technology. Owner has full reigns of all operations including stock so do not invest as if you leave outside of his terms he will likely hold your vested balance as he has done with a number of employees.
