Discriminatory practices at Dataminr EMEA HR. The discrimination I’ve personally experienced and got aware of has systemic patterns and is based on gender and stereotypes as well as racism. On paper the organisation looks appealing (funding, valued at numbers) and during the hiring process, you may get sold by the “art of possible”, which you’ll later find out was mis-sold to you completely. The product is designed for newsroom and public only (hardly any greenfield left) and the only reps hitting their targets are AMs dealing with existing customers. So before you make a move to Dataminr and jeopardize your CVs and career progress and literally become a worse sales rep by cruising around on a sinking ship competing against speed boats (far more advanced predictive analytics platforms), you MUST speak to current and former reps and proactively reach out to them. Hear from them how badly each one regrets their move to Dataminr and how desperately small size landing deals are sold in a very lengthy sales cycle. In addition, random distribution of accounts and excessive salary differences create a toxic work environment. Lack of product maturity, strategy and vision: Latest acquisitions are still work in progress, unachieveable and unrealistic targets, pricing model has been restructured and basically desperately trying to sell at any pricing due to lack of value, yet no RoI calculator in place and not a value-based selling model as you are dealing with cost centers rather than revenue-generating departments.
