Good product but poor leadership - Customer Success Manager Dataiku Employee Review

Pros

Highly technical DSML product so you'd learn a lot. The scope of problems that AI solves is immense and so you'd enjoy working with their customers in solving interesting problems. Culture and vibe is relaxed -- it's a french company Product Engineering and support are awesome. You get to work with some of the smartest people on the planet

Cons

Poor C-level Leadership -- it's hard for top leadership to communicate vision. Poor CS leadership -- they hired some fly-by-night gang of CS operators who had no experience in horizontal/complex/developer platforms or operating at this scale. Didn't understand how to enable CS teams to drive adoption and customer value. Just a bunch of "document writers" with expert in fluffy language. I've heard that this entire gang was eventually fired but the damage has been real -- several good people in Customer org have left. Worse, they replaced this gang with Solution Engineering leaders who have no experience in CS. So some more people left and now DKU is struggling to hold on to their employees and customers.

its just all cons these days

Cons

major culture shift and pressure on employees. The ship is going down and nobody can even admit its happening. I take daily calls for people that want to leave, but none of us can afford to leave and lose our equity.

it’s a job? i guess?

Cons

miserable to work here and the product is not strong. other giants in the industry are making this product redundant, and not worth the cost. features are not exciting to customers and they can easily complete the same objectives with other products who have longer standing credentials in the industry or by companies simply making similar functionalities themselves. its an uphill battle convincing any clients of the value of this, and its soul sucking to pedal AI all day. zero inspiration from leadership, huge eye roll every time they speak
