Pros

Datadog is a very great work environment. Across the organization you will find some of the best people of their domain. More importantly, the company has done a great job of making sure that they are hiring enthusiastic and considerate people. People are kind and look out for each other, while also being quite fun. There is great feeling of community at the company.

Cons

The company has been in crazy growth mode so many people (as I was) can be joining to do a new job that's never been done before. This unstructured potential is exciting for those that want to work through it, but can be super challenging if you aren't proactive or rely on a lot of outside support to figure out what to work on. I also think that there is a great culture of supporting any and every employee but there could be more done more specifically around specifically supporting diverse groups and populations.

Pros

Datadog has a strong product, smart coworkers, and a fast paced environment that teaches you a lot quickly. I learned a tremendous amount about observability, technical discovery, outbound prospecting, and how modern engineering organizations operate. The company has also gives reps exposure to large accounts and technical conversations early in their careers.

Cons

The ramp for newer AEs can feel steep, especially in a hgihly competitive outbound environment. Success often depends on timing, territory, pipeline momentum, and consistent coaching. There can also be a significant pressure tied to activity metrics and pipeline generations, which may be difficult for reps still developing confidence and process consistency.
