Pros

They sell you the world @ interview stage. Outward looking in, this looks a great company with a great start up culture. They call it a "rocketship" whilst they are selIing it to you. I see all the positive and glowing reviews written here recently and can picture the sales managers and their lackeys that have written them. Who are you trying to convince, yourself? Good luck with that!

Cons

They fail to deliver on anything and then the nightmare really starts. You soon begin to realise that this is broken company with a broken model and a "toxic" culture. The tone is set from the very top here, by the CRO. Compare this company with any start up of It's age and you can really see the comparison: there is a hemorrhage of employees especially in senior positions which tells you a lot about whats its really like as they have view into the company that most lower down don’t. Marketing is the most annoying department with a bunch of jumped up self opinionated 18-21 years jerks you've ever come across (People reading this internally will laugh as they know its the truth) Its a sorority clique at best! (if I could I would give them minus points below on the ratings for culture and senior management, I would)

Pros

Datadog has a strong product, smart coworkers, and a fast paced environment that teaches you a lot quickly. I learned a tremendous amount about observability, technical discovery, outbound prospecting, and how modern engineering organizations operate. The company has also gives reps exposure to large accounts and technical conversations early in their careers.

Cons

The ramp for newer AEs can feel steep, especially in a hgihly competitive outbound environment. Success often depends on timing, territory, pipeline momentum, and consistent coaching. There can also be a significant pressure tied to activity metrics and pipeline generations, which may be difficult for reps still developing confidence and process consistency.
