Pros

Datadog is an exceptional company with a best-in-class product that truly delivers on its vision of unified observability. The founders are still deeply involved and consistently make strong, thoughtful decisions that benefit the long-term direction of the company. Compensation is very competitive, and the overall benefits package is strong. The office experience is also a highlight; great environment, well-run, and genuinely enjoyable to be in. There are a lot of smart, motivated people, and you’re constantly learning.

Cons

Like many companies transitioning from a high-growth startup to a more mature enterprise organization, there are some growing pains. Processes, roles, and responsibilities can sometimes be in flux as the company scales, which can create occasional ambiguity.

Pros

Datadog has a strong product, smart coworkers, and a fast paced environment that teaches you a lot quickly. I learned a tremendous amount about observability, technical discovery, outbound prospecting, and how modern engineering organizations operate. The company has also gives reps exposure to large accounts and technical conversations early in their careers.

Cons

The ramp for newer AEs can feel steep, especially in a hgihly competitive outbound environment. Success often depends on timing, territory, pipeline momentum, and consistent coaching. There can also be a significant pressure tied to activity metrics and pipeline generations, which may be difficult for reps still developing confidence and process consistency.
