Pros

DataEdge is a highly reputed company in the IT industry, known for its financial stability and modern infrastructure, including its own nine-story building. Employees enjoy timely salary disbursements, with payments made on the 5th of every month. The software development team, particularly the senior members, is known for being supportive and helpful. The company provides excellent facilities, including an air-conditioned canteen. For trainee engineers, DataEdge is often described as a dream workplace. However, the hiring process is notably rigorous, with more than six stages to pass before only the most talented engineers are selected. Once admitted, trainees undergo an intensive training program that lasts over six months. This process is often likened to military-style commando training, due to its demanding nature. While some fail to complete the training and leave negative reviews on platforms like Glassdoor, those who succeed are rewarded with opportunities to work on prestigious projects for organizations such as the Electronic License Board, Standard Chartered Bank, Trust Bank, Eastern Bank, ,Brac Bank and many others. Not only that these engineers are on the top list of others reknowned company selection list.

Cons

No Lunch Facility No prayer room for female Salary structure is not satisfactory for Senior Engineers

Pros

None worth mentioning. The company is well-established, but that brings no tangible benefit to employees.

Cons

No subsidized lunch, no breakfast (even though a sister concern, Food Edge, exists). No tissue boxes in the office – basic amenities missing. No Iftar party during Ramadan, no annual party, no annual trip. No provident fund, no gratuity, no annual leave encashment. They claim a “Loyalty Fund Award” (LFA), but you have to wait over 7 years to get it. Promotion is a daydream. Increments: max 5k after six months, then you wait 2+ years for the next. If your increment falls in January, you don’t get it until June. Extremely poor raises overall. The company does not value long-serving employees – staying 5–6 years is seen as a sign of being unqualified. Getting fired is common, like breakfast. Older and senior employees are frequent targets. Taking leave is treated as a crime. Seniors behave as if you’ve done something wrong. You have annual leave, but you can neither enjoy it nor get cash for it. For employees with 5+ years, you may have 30+ days of leave – but if you try to take it, you will likely lose your job. One senior manager was fired simply for taking two weeks of leave for a PMP exam. Your Manager expects you to be available on weekends and on your leave days — and still assigns work as if you're doing home office on regular working days.
