Pros

Lots of breaks, by comparison to other places I've been. They do shut down for certain holidays if they aren't too behind or busy. They try to give us a meal every quarter to thank us, even brought pizza on Labor Day since we had to work this year, all 3 shifts delivered fresh, including at 3AM, that's pulling some strings. Most employees are friendly. They allow up to 60 hours a week so I take advantage of overtime.

Cons

If you want a promotion, you can get in line, it's all about seniority. The training is long and picked up on the job experience instead of structured and organized. Management is lacking all management skills, promoted from within people that haven't been educated in proper leadership techniques for the most part. In the print department it's overwhelming how behind with the orders we stay, never really catch up. As a mechanic that means everything has to run at full speed, changeovers are back to back with trucks waiting to load before you begin, and not enough down time or free time to make proper repairs or perform maintenance. Everything is bandaid'd to stay running right or wrong. They don't trust the employees to handle parts which I somewhat understand for inventory control, I don't trust some of the lazy employees either, it's just a hassle. Also the new sap computer system needs to be streamlined a lot because we have so many steps to open and close work orders.

Pros

The people within your department are a great resource of knowledge and positive to be around

Cons

Recent changes over time have made the job more stressful with the people doing the hard work being listened to less and with more work being piled on without additional support being made available.
