Pros

Danos has a lot going for it, especially when it comes to the team members and the direction we’re heading from a technology standpoint. We’ve made some solid strides—migrating to a new VoIP solution, automating repetitive tasks, tightening up security, and exploring next-gen infrastructure like hyper-converged platforms. I genuinely believe we’re on the right track, and the people here are what make it work. What’s Working Well: Forward-Thinking Tech Initiatives: We’ve been making consistent progress on modernizing our tools and infrastructure, which puts us in a good place to stay competitive and efficient. Strong, Committed Team Members: There are people here (like Larry, and others I work with) who go above and beyond every day. They take ownership, solve problems early, and support each other. Willingness to Evolve: I’ve seen Danos embrace change—whether it’s new vendors, automation, or hybrid work—and that openness is critical in a fast-moving industry. Clear Values: The emphasis on safety and purpose isn’t just talk—it’s built into how we operate. That foundation helps guide decisions even in technical areas.

Cons

Areas We Could Improve: Recognizing Leadership in the Ranks: There are folks carrying a lot of weight—managing major systems, building automations, mentoring others—who may not have titles or authority that reflect what they’re actually doing. Recognizing and promoting internal talent will help retention and boost morale. Process Inconsistencies: We’ve run into repeated issues in areas like onboarding, billing, and storage planning. These are fixable with better communication between departments and some structure. Legacy System Drag: We’re still supporting legacy systems and aging network hardware. Concerns regarding necessary changes are often listened to but a call to action is seldom taken unless brought up by key individuals. Burnout Risk: The dedication of our team is a strength—but also a warning sign. If we don’t balance workloads and provide support, we risk burning out the people we rely on the most. Bonuses: Two employees with the same job title can have different bonus rates within the same department.
