Pros
Great work environment, great management in my department, great coworkers and great collaboration, great working hours and very long vacations and ample holidays, plus to top it off the students are great. You might be catching onto a trend here.
Cons
VERY low pay compared to other universities and few options for advancement or overtime pay and zero general pay raises for staff in years and years other than a yearly increase to base pay everyone gets for the first five years. Nothing after that. The lack of any increase to base pay seems to be industry-wide, however other comparable universities in the area and nationwide have much higher starting pay. We are in an inexpensive area but it's still very low pay. Most teachers I know do extra work on the side to make ends meet, ESPECIALLY if they have families( working legally or illegally).
