Pros

Pros are extremely difficult to find.

Cons

Culture of corporate backstabbing at its worst. The top performers are used as de facto in-house consultants to clean up messes the Divisional Vice Presidents (DVP's) let fester. Once the cleaning is done, the DVP's will either blackball their employee's attempt to get promoted or accuse them of breaking some obscure code in the HR handbook to fire them. This happens frequently, evidenced by most DVP's having an average tenure of almost 10 years, while the Directors below them have a 1.5- to 3-year average tenure.

Pros

Stable company to work for with great benefits. DaVita offers tuition reimbursement, so it pays to go back to school and get a degree. They also help with career advancement and development.

Cons

If you are new to dialysis, it may take a while to reach a decent wage. You are required to work 12 hour shifts, mostly on your feet, and managers will always look to add to your workload.

Pros

Patient connections is rewarding work, great hands on experience, paid on the job training, training for PCTs is at least consistent.

Cons

12+ hour long hours, emotionally and physically taxing, unqualified management, poor communication, inconsistent scheduling, high turn over, very little amount of opportunity for movement within the company despite preaching that they encourage it. The culture and values are heavily spoken about with little to no enforcement. The position requires significant dedication to learn all the moving parts of the clinic.
