Pros

They desperately need me so they can't quite fire me without a cause.

Cons

Where to begin? Poor management: they like to have team meetings that make you feel like you're "part of the village" and your voice is heard but the reality is your managers hands are tied by their manager who only thinks of money and doesn't care that all the staff are new and the only veterans can't quit because of legal reasons or other personal circumstances. I think this is an intentional hiring technique to combat their terrible turnover without affecting how much they have to pay us. Which brings me to number two... The pay: I have been working for davita since June 2008 and I have less than .75 cents a year to show for it... davita promises you a dollar at the very least when you get your certification but guess what when you get that cert they tell you that you haven't contributed enough and so begins the long long train of lies and poor business practices. Truly the only reason I've stuck around is I planned on taking part in their tuition reimbursement to become a nurse and further my career in dialysis but seeing how little these companies care for the patient and for their employees who make their yachts possible has made me see I need to get out of the medical field all together. I hope this helps you see the true nature of this evil company. Stay home with your parents and get your nursing degree you'll thank me later!

Pros

There's a very caring culture, more so than most companies I've worked for. I feel that leadership cares about employees. Good benefits and flexibility.

Cons

Lack of career growth opportunities in certain parts of the business.

Pros

The local team was great. The FA was the best. She knows how to lead and to build a team. Helping the patients and their families was the best part. Knowing you were helping them improve their quality of life was very rewarding.

Cons

Upper management. All the executives care about is money. All management above the FA level was terrible. Always cutting your hours even though you were full time. People in charge that have absolutely no experience in healthcare. Management and executives who don't understand medicine and how healthcare works or should be. They bully, don't support, and try to find things to get you in trouble. They want the nurses to only use AI instead of thinking and doing what is best for the patients. When I started with DaVita, it was a great place to work. Since the business people took over at the top, it has gone downhill and is simply awful. I do not recommend working here.
