Pros

Make you feel like your part of something

Cons

Many of the long term colleagues I worked with for many years were terminated throughout the organization as their jobs were "eliminated" or suddenly told their performance was poor. The saddest part is that many of these individuals were consistently rated well in reviews and abruptly exited. The loyalty at DaVita is only to the inner sanctum of Ivy League and former high end consultants. Expect to be managed by a fresh faced graduate from Stanford, Yale, Harvard, etc. who have little, or no, practical experience.

Pros

Stable company to work for with great benefits. DaVita offers tuition reimbursement, so it pays to go back to school and get a degree. They also help with career advancement and development.

Cons

If you are new to dialysis, it may take a while to reach a decent wage. You are required to work 12 hour shifts, mostly on your feet, and managers will always look to add to your workload.

Pros

Management supports a work-life balance, hours are flexible, okay benefits. Good training opportunities and there is effort by management to support a good work culture. 6 weeks at 80% of pay Paternity/Maternity & Adoption leave. 401K with 6% matching. For 2 adults, we pay for Davita's Anthem BCBS healthcare plan and it is $350/month (4,700 deductible).

Cons

Payscale isn't aggressive - 1% raise each year. You also may be asked to cover other clinics temporarily without fair compensation for the extra workload.
