The company has done a great job in hiring people that support each other and care about the work they do. This creates a culture that welcomes new people, helps them get up to speed quickly, develops talent, and supports work/life balance. It's a great place to start a new career path. The manufacturing area is super clean and organized, and that extra effort supports people doing quality work. The company has been around for more than 20 years and is a stable and growing business.

The location is on the north edge of the Twin Cities and can be a long commute from some areas. If you really interested in corporate jobs and climbing a career ladder, you may do better at a bigger company.

Things I appreciate the most at DSTI are the great people I work with daily and the overall flexibility. Everyone seems to care deeply for this company and enjoy working here. Benefits are better than average for a company of this size; communication is getting better all the time; company lunches every other month where everyone gets together and the company events are fun and healthy for the culture; fringe benefits including sports tickets, shared sports car, borrowing of equipment, etc. are also very nice; equipment and facility is top shelf; there is really too much to mention here.

Much work to be done in respect to process creation, work flow structure and performance measurements. Good news is this is a priority and we are making progress. Also, due to the size of company we are, there is not much room for those who struggle with efficiency, need significant and frequent oversight or daily instruction.
