Pros

I loved the atmosphere and amount of support received from my peers. Management is willing to work with you and very understanding. I loved working here.

Cons

Pay is not fantastic but competitive. Expect to work more than 40 hours a week, but this is common among private sector businesses.

Pros

DST Controls fosters an excellent work environment, with a focus on professional and personal development. The leadership team works hard to stay ahead of the curve in the industrial controls and automation industry, and their 35+ year history in the field shows in an impressive list of clients that have stayed for decades. The leadership team is amazing, as they heavily emphasize continuous improvement and development, and bends over backwards to ensure their employees are happy.

Cons

As it is a smaller company, it is common to wear many different hats while working here. For some, it could be overwhelming, but for others, the endless things to learn and experiences could be the best thing for them. As the company is flexible in maneuvering in the market and following trends of their clients, engineers are allowed to pursue whatever technology they feel is best for their clients, and they are not relegated to reusing the same technology stack or equipment because that is what was historically used. As long as they can create documented, reliable, validated, turn-key solutions for their customers, the sky is the limit.
