Pros

Do team nights once a week (pay for yourself).

Cons

The role was advertised as 'events assistant'. The first red flag was the e-mail that offered me an interview on a 'first come first serve' basis. You meet with the manager of the company and then you meet with an 'accounts manager' for an interview in a coffee shop. They tell you its a marketing company and that there is great opportunity for progression with lots of money to be made and that they work with big companies like Amazon and Talk Talk.... lies lies lies. The CEO then calls and offers you the job and makes it sound like you were specially selected but really they will give anybody a job especially people they think are easy to manipulate. The actual role is a self-employed, commission only, charity fundraiser that stands in shopping centres outside poundstretcher in the Merrrion Centre. NOTHING to do with events or marketing. This all becomes apparent when you attend their bizarre cult like meetings at their office at 7:30 AM called Atmosphere - where you do weird chants and high five everyone in the room whilst running in a circle. That's when you practice your script to get yourself ready for the field . The company runs on a five step programme and the higher you are in the programme the more commission you make. You are told its done on average in 12 months and when at the top you will be making serious money. If this is the case then why have some of the best employees that have been working at the company for ages still only on the second stage? It's because the progression is unrealistic - the employees are nice but brainwashed and don't realise they are effectively in a pyramid scheme/ multi-level marketing scam. The hours they expect you to work is from 7.30 AM to sometimes 7PM Monday - Saturday and on entry level a good week you could earn if you manage to stop enough people £250 thats around 70 hours a week which averages at about £3.60 an hour. You also get 'pushed back' in the programme if you take a day off, which is ridiculous as you are self-employed so you get no sick pay or holiday pay etc. Also, if you need to get the bus or train to an 'event' all travel is paid for by yourself.

Pros

People are nice, but unfortunately they do seem to be brainwashed. During my 'assessment day'(which was basically going with an account manager and his colleagues to a different city, paying myself for the train there - I know I was stupid to do it, or naive which is what you do when you look for a job).

Cons

- on commission pay (and you are basically a street foundraiser) - if you don't persuade people to donate money, you won't earn anything. There is no basic pay, so there is no financial security for you (how will you pay your bills if there are no sale? They will defend it saying 'on commission pay' allows for meritocracy within the company (to differentiate between high and low performers). - you will have to cover costs of your transport across Yorkshire, UK - they find vulnerable people (they like if you are like a sponge - easy to be lied and manipulated) and brainwash and use them like donkeys ... - they tell you it's a fast-tracking programme to make you a manager in months - sounds appealing, but let's be realistic - they advertise the job as a marketing assistant/sales assistant (you are a street foundraiser!) = lies, lies, lies, lies..... If you are you really looking for real career opportunities, do yourself a favour, and keep applying for jobs. Good luck !

Pros

friendly staff, but that's about it

Cons

It's pretty embarrassing that the only decent reviews for DNA are for management? Not that they're bias or anything... The company is a pyramid scheme who prey on fresh graduates and try to brainwash you into working 10+ hour days on commission only! Some days you make absolutely NO MONEY and the turnover for staff is phenomenal as people join and begin to realise they've been scammed! The job is usually advertised on job sites as a 'marketing assistant' or 'events manager' or something similar, however the reality of what you are doing is standing outside the Merrion Centre trying to con people - which makes me personally feel very guilty and humiliated! The staff are nice enough but management is clique-y (they all live together so work is just one big social for them) and fancy themselves as some high flying entrepreneurs. Also the leadership training ladder BS they preach in the interviews is NOT REALISTIC. The lady who interviewed me had been working there a year and she was only on level 2, poor girl.
