Pros

I was originally part of Feed team where I worked as a developer for 6 years before it was acquired by Dept, I absolutely loved the vibe of the Manchester office in the city center and working with team. There are some incredibly talented people in the office and the company overall One of the major pros was getting to work on big brand projects while also having the time to level up my skill set. My line manager was really supportive and I was able to go deeper into the usual FE tech like React, TypeScript, Vanilla JS, Tailwind etc then put that into practice on live projects. The perks & initiatives are really good. DEPT Cares Day was a highlight where you get time to spend in the local community, helping them out as a team I took part every year & the DEPTFest from 2022 was incredible. Overall, it's a really exciting company to work for. There’s a real buzz in the office, a strong creative culture & you get to work on some well known brands while continuing to grow your skills

Cons

There were quite a few changes during my fairly short time here (2.5/3 years) which meant some projects felt a bit disorganised at times but I felt things were much more ironed out later on.

Pros

Lots of individuals that make up many teams from design, copy, motion, production artists, and even full-time strategists.

Cons

I left right before a big merge, so I can't speak to how it is after the merge. This review may be outdated.

Pros

The design team is very talented and kind.

Cons

Very boring agency to work at. They only claim the agency is not doing good, "we don't have money" so no raises, 1.2% merit increases this year. This doesn't even keep up with inflation rate. At this company you will just be a number on a spreadsheet, waiting to get laid off because they would rather use a million different AI than hire any entry level positions. They fail almost every pitch because the leadership is empty-headed, comes in and changes the entire concepts and decks. And they claim they are very transparent and B-corp but they discriminate against POC all the time and lie about your prospects at their company. It's really not worth your nerves to work for them.
