It is best you adopt a independent working style and not expect much. - Supervisor tend to be overly reactive or jump to conclusions that causes unnecessary tension or toxicity in team. Which seems condoned. hence... Better to just accept everything as it is and close one eye and accept said behaviour for the sake of peace - Strict on rules hence probation can be extended beyond 6 months on their discretion without setting clear expectations unless probed.
