Pros

It has a nice pay standard, nice gratuity etc. The talent acquisition in field or country offices definitely needs to hire people, with relevant experiences, or familiar skills and background for the position, they have this trend of hiring random people from the private sector, who have zero clue of how the development sector really works.

Cons

Very slow decision-making, too many levels in between field offices, to senior management and donor agencies, major decision-making time takes forever, creating a very frustrating environment for ground-level staffs. Work implementation is usually hampered due to the inability of DAI's home team to act as a proper mediator between its donor agency and implementing project teams.

Pros

Strong culture of integrity. Absolutely spectacular colleagues. Super interesting work.

Cons

Basically denuded of staff due to USAID cuts. Upper management had become obsessed with performance against metrics that were poorly fit to the business, and were focused entirely on how they might meet those metrics this week, without looking ahead to how to make structural improvements over the longer term.
