Pros

Great way to get experience and learn the ropes to Maintenance. I learned skills here that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Also a lot of great people who work there. The overall work place is relaxed, friendly, and feels pretty easy going. Once you get turned loose on your own you are given a very long leash, and as long as you are getting your work done in a timely manner, and with good quality, no one will bother you. Advancements are possible for those who have been around long enough/ show enough initiative. These are almost always special cases, but the point is, good work is noticed and appreciated. Pay will be discussed in the cons section, it is not terrible, but it is not competitive anymore. That said, the benefits are pretty good. Especially the health insurance, as long as you are by yourself. Adding a family member is incredibly expensive. If you live on property, you may also receive up to $200 dollars off of your rent, but this is not guaranteed, as there are certain conditions.

Cons

UPPER. MANAGEMENT. It feels like their very purpose is to make everyone's life miserable. Lately there were a lot of changes that came through all at once that turned the company upside down, and inspired several people to quit. Also, good luck getting a raise, even if one is promised. Promises by management cannot be trusted. They fell through on just about every raise/ cost of living adjustment promise they have made. Usually the complaints about wages are met with "Good luck getting paid better anywhere else!" That said, everyone who has quit, myself included, has moved on to a better paying job. As people are quitting in droves, they are not replacing people, instead, the people that are left have to pick up the slack. Decisions by all levels of management are made the day after last minute. Even when given plenty of notice ahead of time, every decision is delayed until the last possible second to be made. Communication about changes can be very dicey at times. Usually new policy changes were heard about through word of mouth, rather than through meetings/memos. That said, this did begin to improve towards the end of my time there.
