-Interesting mission and business idea; potential to positively impact the lives of small business owners across the country -Backing from strong VCs; have raised several decent rounds of funding -Some smart, talented, kind, hard-working coworkers -Free weekly lunch. Some snacks and bad coffee.
Cons
-Horrific, fundamentally broken management team. Mainly the co-founders (CEO and President). They are immature, inexperienced, and display borderline abusive and cruel behavior towards employees. Constant bad-mouthing of employees behind their backs and repeatedly referring to staff members as disposable. Zero demonstration that they care about career development and job satisfaction of their employees. They've created a terrible company culture and the worst office politics I've ever seen.They have no interest in feedback or coaching to improve their behavior. -High turnover. Very few staff members stay beyond 6-12 months; it's a revolving door of staff. Very low morale. -Zero strategy and mission for the company. Priorities and goals change monthly. No one on the management team has C-level or VP-level experience, which is very evident in the day-to-day functioning of the company. -Very little transparency and honesty across the company. Management team hides information and priorities from staffers; gives zero notice or background reasoning when implementing huge changes. They'll casually announce huge company changes that fundamentally alter people's jobs at lunch meetings. You'd have to be very, very comfortable with ambiguity and lack of transparency to work here. -Your job itself can completely change from month-to-month depending on what management team decides to focus on. -Benefits/salaries are average at best. Mediocre coverage, no 401k match, no commuter benefits. -Office is average at best. Not a nice looking space; minimal amenities and location isn't amazing.
