Pros
I was present for the launch of Current TV, at the time a daring new vision for socially engaged and integrated television, with the soul of a startup and some fairly big names behind it. It was an exciting time, with our celebrity founder bringing generating media attention and an unprecedented commitment to giving young adults their own voice in the media.
Cons
Unfortunately I think Current never quite did figure out what it wanted to be, and overhauled it model, philosophy, and staff a number of times in my five years with the company. As for me, I found myself treading water in an overlooked position with little encouragement from management or sense of opportunity. Current officially ended its run in 2013, becoming Al Jazeera America.
