Pros
Good salary (compared to Italian competitors) Remote working Flexibility About the last two points, they were forced by the pandemic and by the laws of the Italian government (smartworking). The board was not very happy and a couple of times threatened to return to the office because they felt that the employees were not performing as well as in the office. Translated: they wanted more control over the employees. Actually, they even threatened to install control software to monitor the time spent on the PC
Cons
Lack of organization: I was assigned to a project with almost no support, and nothing has changed even after my complaints to the manager. Unclear career path: every year there should be an evaluation of your performance, but how can you be evaluated if you have worked alone on a project? They can only rely on the feedback provided by the client or the project owner, so if the project went well, good for you, but if there were problems, how can you "defend yourself"? Boring and obsolete projects: at the interview I stressed that for me the most important aspect was working on stimulating projects using modern technologies, I found myself on what could be the (negative) stereotype of a legacy project.
