Pros

Site level staff were excellent to work with. The majority who stayed a while helped build and sustain the business.

Cons

The upper management were very disjointed from the modern reality of the day to day running of the business. People being hired with less experience than the people they were asked to manage became a regular occurrence and a lack of respect entailed (Marketing, GM's, Retail Staff). Contracted hours meant nothing on paper unless you were a part of the hourly payroll with 50/60 hour weeks the norm during peak season without so much as a thank you. General managers in the business skipped lots of processes in Stock, HR and health and safety for a quieter life which is a shame as the HSE & Audit manager were both excellent. The majority of GM's I worked for were never afraid to throw someone under the bus to protect their own interests and lived in fear of the grim reaper style area management with only my last GM being relatively human. The HR system was vague and the support offered was minimal as it was GM lead.
