Pros

- Prayer is a top value and practiced consistently. - 99% of the staff have good intentions. People will rally behind you while you're there. I do think hearts are in it. - A great congregation in a great, growing city. - Culture is fun. You'll go on fun trips and do fun activities.

Cons

- Diversity (race AND gender) should be a higher priority on the leadership team - Those on the lower end of the org chart are not taken seriously when decisions are being made - Pay is kept secret (i.e. managers don't know what their employees make) leading to unfair pay scales - Disorganized and disrespectful of time management-- many decisions were made (or changed) at the last minute which lead to being overworked and burning out. - Death by meetings. Many spend most of their work week in meetings.

Pros

Flexibility and some good people for the most part.

Cons

Compensation is practically unlivable in a city like Nashville. Especially with the benefit package, or lack there of. While benefits are technically offered, the out-of-pocket cost is nearly double what you’d expect elsewhere. Over the past 2.5 years, there’s been a consistent and visible decline in both staff and congregation. Staff turnover has been alarmingly high—at a rate that would be unsustainable in most other sectors. Most recently, layoffs have begun. Morale is low as low as it can get, and it feels like leadership is actively contributing to the organization’s decline rather than trying to course-correct. It’s hard to watch.
