It's ok, but fires for no reason - Recruiter Crossmint Employee Review

Pros

The company has unlimited PTO and lets you set your own work hours to a certain extent. They have quarterly company off-sites at different locations and will pay for travel to these company events.

Cons

The company will provide you with a lower than customary salary and get you to join with promises of receiving equity ownership in the company. However, they have a pattern of firing employees prior to any of the equity being vested, so it's a little bit of a bait and switch. It appears they don't have any intention of employees ever receiving equity, but use that as a tool to hire people for low pay knowing that they can merely fire them immediately before any stock vests.

Thank you for the feedback! Crossmint pays top-of-the-market salaries for most roles and equity is granted with the standard vesting schedule ie. four years with a one year cliff. We are a team of 35 full time people. During our first 10 months of operations, we had to make the difficult decision to part ways with 3 team members. In all cases, it was due to performance or because the role became redundant. All employees that parted ways did so within their first 3-4 months at Crossmint, and with at least 8 months until the vesting of their shares.

Pros

- Supportive team that always pushes you to be better - Team encourages you to take as much PTO as possible - Endless opportunities to contribute to other teams (eng, gtm, legal, risk, etc.) - Your opinions are equal to those with tenure; you can shape company direction if you speak up. - We all get to see each other multiple times a year at offsites

Cons

None, but a warning: You best is the lowest bar. Always come ready to give 150% and be ready to learn the equivalent of 6 jobs. You need to be comfortable in a TRUE fast paced startup where your priorities can differ day to day, client to client.

Pros

Team works hard and is open to ideas

Cons

Management is constantly changing direction every 3 months. Incredibly stressful and leaves everyone burned out.
